Bakanalia Border Morris
Bakanalia Border Morris are a mixed Border Morris side based in Leicester who dance for pleasure and aim to preserve and develop the border morris tradition by entertaining and encouraging others to be involved.
Border Morris is a tradition from the English counties bordering Wales and is characterised by stick-clashing, the wearing of ‘rag-jackets’ and painted faces.
We rehearse most Thursday evenings from 8.30 – 10pm at The Scout Hall, Stamford Street, Glenfield, Leicester, LE3 8DL.
Anyone is welcome to come and give either dancing or playing an instrument a try – a sense of rhythm is helpful, but a sense of humour is most important! We have members of all ages from 3 counties!
Our only restriction is that children of 16 years and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Drop us a line via our email address: firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to come along.
We perform all over the county and beyond, at village fetes, parish galas, pubs, seasonal festivals, weddings, celebrations and charities!
